This time of year has been marked since ancient times as sacred.
It's Winter Solstice. All over the world we have rituals of gathering and lighting up the winter. The world celebrates the light with Christmas, Hanukkah, Festival of the Lights, and others. This is a Mid-Winter time when we move inside our homes and ourselves to reap the benefits of rest and reflection. And in this long dark winter, humans need the spark of light and community to give us hope that the light does return.

This sense of the timeless honoring of the season can get lost in the flurry of so much around us. But it is always here just waiting for us to take a moment and tune in.

Shannon and Erica have been co-hosting this special Solstice Gathering honoring the sacred Goddess Deer Mother for 10 years! It is our tradition to welcome in Deer Mother and call upon her wisdom.
The evening will include.....
✨ guided visualization and meditation to attune to the Winter season and find our inner stillness
✨ drumming shamanic journey to meet with ancient Deer Mother and the guides of the Solstice
✨ a candle ritual for lighting our spark and anchoring our flame
✨ sharing circle and holiday treats
The beloved Deer Mother has been a revered figure for millennia honored by the people in the British isles through Russia and Siberia and into the Americas. It was believed she drew the chariot of the sun goddess across the sky carrying the sun in her antlers on Solstice. Since pagan times she has drifted into the mists but she lives on in the 8 reindeer who carry Santa's sleigh through the night to deliver gifts in the Christmas story. We are remembering our past and welcoming Deer Mother's wisdom at this time. She always has some wise words and sweet love to bestow on us all. She is always a deep guide who infuses our circle with a mystical presence.
No experience necessary. You do not need to have journeyed before. This will be a deep and nourishing experience for those who have never journeyed with drumming and to those who have many times. A shamanic journey is a practice where through the rhythmic beat of the drum, one enters into the Spiritworld or a meditative state where we are open to the magic of all of life and closer to hearing our own inner voice.
This is a time to come together to celebrate both the Longest Night and the Return of the Light. Women, Men, and young people are invited. Invite your friends, sisters, your spouse and kids to join us for my favorite circle of the year.
